It’s a party! Happy September and Happy Anniversary to us! Yes! Yarn Therapy is six years old!

To celebrate, we are throwing a BIRTHDAY PARTY! We hope you can join us!

September Classes

Please be on time and ready to begin. Classes fill quickly and are packed with a lot of information in a structured amount of time.  You don’t want to miss anything!
To ensure that you have a seat at the table we ask that you pay for your classes in advance. Don’t miss out! You can sign up online!
Learn to Knit
Come learn to knit with us. All materials are included. The needles, yarn, project bag, and four hours of instruction for $55.
Saturdays, July 1st and July 8th
10am to 12pm

Learn to Crochet
Come get hooked, on crochet that is! All materials are included. The hook, yarn, project bag, and four hours of instruction for $55.

Sign up quickly. This one will fill up fast.
This Carol Sunday stunner is such a fun knit. The only purls are in the ribbing! Promise! This incredibly clever pattern is worked flat to create a rectangle that is folded with a single seam. Learn Fair Isle. You’ve got this!
When: “Pick Your Colors with Sarah” Saturday, September 9th at 10am. This pattern calls for as few as four or as many as fourteen colors, and comes in two sizes. We have tons of color choices! (Yarn must be purchased, wound, and ready to knit for September 16th class)

Encore! By popular demand, we are offering a second set of classes on Knit Night, Wednesdays, October 16th, 23rd, and November 6th, 6-8pm. 

  • Pattern is a Buy in Store option in the shop, or may be purchased here
  • Any combination of Sunday Knits Yarn, in Eden, Nirvana, or Angelic- Please refer to your pattern. (Sizes and options vary but count on 1600 to 1950 yards total.)
  • 32" US 5 circular needles
Skills: Must be able to knit and purl with confidence.  

Cable Hat with Rosa
Have you knitted in the round? Ready to cable? Here is your chance. This adorable hat will have you doing both in no time. Rosa will teach you the fine art of knitting from a basic chart. Do we have these cute pom poms? Why, yes! Yes we do!
Mondays, September 11th and 18th
6:30 to 8pm

  • 150 to 200 yards of worsted weight wool, hat is offered in several sizes 
  • 16” US 4’s & 7’s circular needles 
  • US 7 double pointed needles 
  • Cable needle 
  • Stitch marker
Skills: Must be able to knit and purl with confidence.

Basic Socks with Rosa

It is that time of year! Everyone wants socks for Holiday giving. Who doesn’t love handmade socks? Get started here with Rosa!

Wednesdays, September 20th, 27th, and October 4th 
6:30 to 8pm


  • Approximately 300 yards of superwash worsted weight yarn
  • US3 double point needles 
  • Darning needle
Skills: Must be able to knit and purl with confidence.

Crochet Potholder/Trivet with Judy

Round and round we go! These little circles are so addicting!  I use them to get cast iron out of the oven! Don’t you love when it is pretty AND functional?

Saturday, September 30th 
1 to 4pm


  • Two contrasting balls of Catania Cotton
  • G crochet hook
  • Optional: Tapestry needle to weave in ends

Skills: Must know single and double crochet.

Pinwheel Towels on the Rigid Heddle Loom with Peggy

Join Peggy and take your rigid heddle weaving skills to the next level. In this class you will complete two towels and learn how to use a pick-up stick. The two contrasting cones of cotton will make two 12” x 22” towels using the cricket loom (15”) or two 24” x 22” towels using a 32” loom.
Please note that the pickup for the pinwheels is time consuming. There will be two drafts to choose from should you wish to move faster through the project.

Saturday, September 30th 
1 to 5pm


  • Rigid heddle loom, 15” or 32”
  • 12dent heddle
  • Heddle hook for threading the warp
  • Two shuttles
  • Pick up stick appropriate for loom width (16” for Cricket)
  • Two contrasting cones of 3/2perle cotton and scrap yarn for beginning of project
  • Brown paper for rolling warp
  • Optional: Matching thread and tapestry needle for hemming if you choose not to have fringe.

We will have on hand but recommend you bring a tape measure or ruler and scissors.
Note: Project uses approximately 470 yards of each color for the 12” towel and 940 yards for the 24” towel.
