Happy May from Yarn Therapy

Happy May everyone! I hope you are enjoying this gorgeous weather. April showers have ushered in May flowers and loads of fresh new yarns. Socks Yeah!, Jo Sharp Classic DK, the gorgeous Nua by Carol Feller, and Air Lux by Katia, to name a few.  Let that spring in your step get your needles flying.  
Don’t forget, Mother’s Day is right around the corner.  Say Happy Mother’s Day to your favorite Mom with a gift certificate, yarn, bag, needles, soaps or other fun treats from Yarn Therapy. Check out the gift worthy classes below. It really is all about Mom!



Classes fill quickly and are packed with a lot of information in a structured amount of time.  You don’t want to miss anything! Please be on time and ready to begin.

Come learn to knit with us. All materials are included. The needles, yarn, project bag, and four hours of instruction for $55.

The Easy One with Terri

The perfect first sweater, using Queensland United, a light and airy organic cotton/wool blend you can wear right now. The Easy One, by Joji Locatelli, is a comfortable and relaxed fit, so even if your gauge isn’t perfect, your sweater will be. Please note the homework below.
Gauge: 21 sts and 36 rows to 4” in stockinette stitch on US4 needles. Before you measure, please take the time to wash and block your swatch in the same manner that you will wash and block your sweater. Bring this swatch to class.
When: Saturdays, May 19th and June 2nd, 10am to 12pm

  • 32” US4 circular needle, stitch markers, stitch holders, tapestry needle.

Skills: Must be able to knit and purl with confidence.




Clara Dress with Judy

This sweet little dress is sure to put a smile on the face of some lucky Mother’s Day recipient. We worked it up in a cotton/wool blend but feel free to use a pretty cotton. Please note the homework below.
HOMEWORK: Cast on number of stitches for desired size (220 for 3-month or 240 for 6-month). Place marker for beginning of round, join and work 11 rounds in seed stitch.
Seed Stitch:
Rnd 1: *k1, p1; rep from *.
Rnd 2: Purl the knits and knit the purls as they face you.
When: Saturdays, May 19th and June 2nd, 2 to 4pm


  • Pattern provided in shop (hard copy)
  • 110 grams (approximately 440 yards depending on fiber content)
  • 16” US3 circular needles, and DPNs.

Skills: Must be able to knit and purl with confidence.



Picot Wash Cloth with Judy

Are you a new knitter? Are you ready for the next step? Learn to incorporate basic increases and decreases, picots and finishing techniques with this little gift worthy gem. Make a few for some Moms on your list. Add a pretty bar of soap! Done!
When: Saturday, May 26, 12 to 2 pm 

  • Pattern provided.
  • Needle size to be determined based on weight of yarn chosen for project. We have lots of cotton in many weights and colors.

Skills: Must be able to do a basic knit stitch.


Two Socks Toe-Up on Magic Loop with Rosa

Make two socks at the same time. No more second sock syndrome! 

When: Saturdays, June 9th, 23rd and 30th, 1to 4pm


  • Pattern provided
  • Size US1 or 1.5 40'' Circular Needles
  • approx. 400 yards of sock yarn wound into two balls
  • tapestry needle

Skills: Previous experience with magic loop.
